lyrics

blue bird singing out my window in brooklyn
playing my piano in my kitchen
writing down a simple tune

it's about the time i used to be a drunkard
sipping from the bottle with a stutter
hoping i won't go back there

did you know how i felt
back when i was lost
on your exhaust
even in those dark days
above a cloudy haze
i still saw your face

my intentions were so cryptic now i'm sober
burning down the roots of my lover
working over time for you

scared of being with the one i never let go
steady like a walking tempo
working yourself back in

did you know how i felt
back when i was lost
on your exhaust
even in those dark days
above a cloudy haze
i still saw your face

did you, ever think that i
would become as lonely as the sky
